Why We Built This Site
Michigan gives the public a fair amount of access to court and agency records, but the access runs through different doors depending on what a person needs. A warrant is not a single document in a single place. A judge signs the order, a police agency enters it into a law-enforcement index, and the court that issued it controls the status and the next court date. A failure-to-appear warrant from a district court often stays with that district court, and a felony matter can move up to the Third Judicial Circuit after the district stage ends.
Michigan also has no public statewide warrant search. The state police criminal-history service, ICHAT, expressly leaves warrant information out, along with suppressed records, traffic matters, local misdemeanors, and federal cases. A person who checks one office, finds nothing, and stops may walk away with the wrong answer. We collect the counter addresses, phone lines, search pages, record formats, and request steps for each office so a reader can start in the right spot.
What You Will Find Here
Five areas get the most attention, and each one has its own page:
- Warrant checks: how to check a Wayne County warrant by name and date of birth through the courts and county channels
- Outstanding orders: how the county's active warrant picture is assembled, and why no single public roster covers it
- Missed court dates: how bench warrants arise in Wayne County and which court holds each one
- Criminal charges: how arrest warrants are requested, issued, and served here
- Clearing an order: the steps that resolve a warrant, from an attorney and a voluntary appearance to a bond and a motion to recall
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Michigan court, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, or any county agency.
- We cannot run an official warrant check or confirm whether a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot recall, quash, or clear a warrant on any system
- We cannot accept a payment or post bond toward a warrant
- We cannot arrange a surrender, a court date, or a walk-in appearance
- We cannot give legal advice or say how a warrant applies to a particular person
- We cannot promise that every address, fee, or phone number on this site is current today
Only the court that issued a warrant can recall or clear it, and only the office that holds a record can confirm what it says. We can point you to that office, and the answer has to come from them.
Search Partners
Search boxes on some pages of this site are supplied by outside companies. Those providers run their own services and set their own prices. If a tool leads to a paid signup, we may receive a referral fee, and that revenue helps keep the site free to read. We do not control what a partner charges or what its results contain, and a partner result is not an official warrant check.
